Coaching Timetable
The club meets on a Saturday 9:30am to 3:30pm, in the sports hall of Saffron Walden Country High School in Saffron Walden. Coaching sessions last 1 and a half hours and there are sessions suitable for members of all age groups and abilities, and it is also possible to book private lessons with Linda or Pierre or to attend as a visiting fencer.
Introductory sessions and beginner courses
Experienced fencers who would like to come and try out a session are able to attend 1 session free of charge, providing they have British Fencing membership. We also run 5 week beginner classes for novice fencers aged 7 or over. Beginner classes are run when there are sufficient fencers to make up a class of a similar age group.
Coaching sessions
Two 90 minute coaching session are run on a Saturday morning one starting at 9:30 and the other at 11:00. Classes are mixed ages (minimum 7 years old) with fencers of similar ability to ensure everyone gets the maximum benefit from their lessons. Sessions start with a warm up and group coaching, followed by guided fencing using electric foils. Each fencer also receives individual guidance within the lesson.
adult fencing
Experienced adult fencers are able to take part in coaching session or can come along on a Saturday between 11am and 1pm for social fencing
private lessons
40 minute private coaching sessions are available with Pierre and Linda on a Saturday from 11am. If you would like to book a private lesson then click the button below for prices and availability.
