We still have junior and adult places available on our 7 week novice fencers course starting on the 20th May (9:30am for junior and 11:00am for adults). The course costs just £70 and includes all coaching, kit, weapons and insurance.

Beginners’ courses are held on a Saturday morning at Saffron Walden County High School sports hall. We will be running both a junior and adult course with the junior course running from 9:30 to 11:00 am, and the adult course running from 11:00am to 12:30pm. All equipment is provided, and you will not need to purchase any specialist kit in order to attend the course. The first 4 weeks will be on the 20th May, 27th May, 10th June and 17th June and will introduce new fencers to the principles of fencing, enabling participants to gain the basic skills and confidence needed to fence effectively.
On the 24th June, 1st July and 8th July the new fencers will have transition lessons where they will join the normal Saturday class but have a separate lesson within this. At the end of the course fencers will have a basis set of skills and will also have experienced fencing within a larger group. New fencers will also be welcome to join us on the 15th July which is the last session prior to the summer break. After the course participants can decide if fencing is a sport they would like to continue with and can join the club to continue to develop their skills at our weekly coached sessions.
To ensure that participants receive high quality coaching and get the most from the course places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
